
The organic Segni Marrone is recognizable by its oval shape and significantly larger size than other varieties. The outer skin is dark brown tending towards red, with a shiny surface, streaked with various shades.
The very firm, yellowish flesh is extremely crunchy and pleasant to bite into, while after cooking it retains a soft, crumbly texture. The particularly pronounced flavor, pleasing to the palate, is combined with the ease of separating it from the skin. Its forest floor aroma enhances the rich flavor, with a unique sweetness.
Our organic marroni are grown and harvested in our chestnut groves, selected and packaged on our premises, ready to be enjoyed.
In pastry making, it is prized for making marron-glaces and for preparing flours. Particularly flavorful, once cooked, marroni are best paired with red wines, preferably young or novello, fruity ones.
